  • And what about Unix/Ubuntu :D?

    • Hello Peter, we have it planned, but without any exact estimates of the release date.

    • @Peka The good news is, according to the FAQ pages, Linux is planned!

The more cross-platform this application becomes, the more useful it will be for people. I may not want to spend a lot of time writing articles using my Android phone but the ability to at least read, or edit documents would really add to the versatility of write.

At present I still use Evernote for dumping large chunks of information, or storing reference material. Write is quickly becoming my go to tool for writing articles, journal entries and other more creative content.

My previous tools, and ones I still use for half my work, are Writemonkey on PC and Jotter on Android, with dropbox saving to make my files accessible to both apps.

Unfortunately the closed architecture of Write still goes against it but as the writing experience and stability improves this is becoming less of a concern.

What I would like to see improved are:
      1. The cross-system updating of documents to the latest versions. Some of the pop-up questions about updating are ambiguous. I don’t want to feel like I am about to overwrite some work. I would like to know it is going to update to the last version I have been working on. Hassle free if possible. Archive versions accessible via the accounts page online would be nice.
      2. Smoother export options. At present it isn’t quite as simple to export to Word, markdown etc. as it should be. Mostly because paragraph and carriage returns don’t always behave as expected!

Overall this is a solid application and development progress is satisfyingly frequent.

One other suggestion would be a small forum for Write users to form a community. At present there is little opportunity to bounce ideas off each other. It would also help the devs if a community could take up the reign in helping others with their queries!
